We have had an outpouring of sponsored tickets purchased, thank you for the support, Lawrence.
We now need NURSES who wish to be sponsored.
Please inform every nurse you know to come and request a sponsored ticket.
We can almost 100% guarantee it will already be sponsored.
As of the end of the day 5/5 TICKETS WILL BE CLOSED ONLINE.
But we are still fully able to accept walk-ins at the event.
Nurses are free as your tickets have already been sponsored.
Since before 2020 nurses have chosen to go headfirst into situations that the majority of us cannot even imagine and have risked their lives for ours time and time again.
The president of RPG, Nate Morsches, is also a Registered Nurse and during the pandemic worked daily on the front lines in the ICU and the Emergency Department. He also was on call outside of RPG during the Black Lives Matter protests in Lawrence, providing his skills when the need arose at no consideration to himself.
When he found out that National Nurse Appreciation Day was in May he wanted to pull together the resources he had available to him to honor those he worked alongside, and all the rest, that have sacrificed so much the last few years and beyond.
Come join us for a Tribute to Nurses presented by RPG at Abe & Jake’s Landing in historic downtown Lawrence as we take the afternoon to recognize these amazing individuals in our own community. Lunch will be provided by RPG and speakers such as our own Mayor Shipley, Lt. Governor David Tolland, and administrators from LMH along with local nurses will share their own stories and their thanks.
We at RPG are in complete agreement with Nate, that nurses deserve to be honored and that this is the least we can do. We hope to see you on May 6th to help us recognize these heroes in our midst as we celebrate National Nurses Day together.
